The Beach Road Steel Story
The Posner name has been prominent in the metal business through three generations of the Posner family, dating back to the 1960s when Fred Posner opened a scrap yard selling used steel to be melted down and sold as scrap metal. It didn’t take long to realize that there were some very useable pieces of metal that could be resold rather than being melted down. In 1982, we started separating the reusable pieces and selling them. That decision expanded into two separate businesses – a scrap yard called Posner Metals, and the metal superstore that is Beach Road Steel.
For decades people have been coming to the steel store with superstore convenience, and Beach Road Steel has grown with the increased customer demand. The majority of the inventory is now prime, new steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze and copper but still incorporates secondary and reusable metals in all shapes and sizes into ou r selecti on.
